There is no doubt that a restaurant on the water will always have an advantage with us. We especially like restaurants with beautiful seaside views. Obviously, the Mill Wharf was a hit because it sits in Scituate Harbor and is a wonderful vantage place to watch the boats go by. When the weather is nice a seat on the outside deck is a pleasure. Either inside, with its many windowed walls, or outside, the diner is afforded a view of the Scituate lighthouse in the distance. The place is calm, clean and cheerful. Although we chose to be seated upstairs and select items from the luncheon menu, an elaborate brunch was being served downstairs at the same time (Sunday).

RESTAURANT: THE MILL WHARF Mill Wharf Plaza, Scituate,
MA DATE: May 2006 MEAL: Lunch DECOR: BREAD: SALAD: APPETIZER: ENTREE: Greek Salad with Portabella
Mushrooms ($6.95 plus $4.00 extra for the mushrooms) - this
is not really an item that a seafood restaurant should be
rated on, but Wendy was in the mood for a salad. The meal
was uninspired but adequate. There was no variety in the
lettuce as only iceberg was used. The mushrooms were done
nicely, however. Seafood Platter ($18.95)
Excellent - a good sized portion that had very few French
Fries. Instead it had plenty of wonderful onion rings,
scrod, scallops, shrimp and clams. The Cole slaw was
bland. DESSERT: OTHER: Easy street parking or in a
nearby lot Dress is casual Service is
excellent OVERALL: A-
We will definitely be back because this restaurant has a
nice "feel" to it.
