WENDY AND TOM DINE OUT

This restauarnt is just up the street from a nice hiking area in the Blue Hills. It makes a nice stop after a long hike. The place reminds of of eating in the living room or dining room of a private home. The restaurant is a small house with two rooms filled with lots of tables. We managed to get the last available table and within 10 minutes, there were 20 people waiting for tables. Timing is everything! Newcomb Farms serves a big, hearty breakfast all day long with other entrees and sandwiches. It reminds us of good home cooked food at a reasonable price. People of all ages appear to frequent the establishment. We saw families with small children and many senior citizens. It is a cozy restaurant although the atmosphere is bustling. Service is quick and the food is excellent. Daily specials are listed on the board and the day we were there one of them was a lobster omelette. We had heard that the banana bread French toast should be tried, but we opted for other items.
