Cape Cod is full of pleasant places to dine, and Oliver's is one of them. Our friend, John Kane, describes Oliver's as a "classic, colonial wood paneled dining room with signatured Cape Cod decor. The restaurant has a motif that could have been seen 50 years ago, but is still in fashion. A discrete, but not stuffy place, Cape Codish without being touristy." Oliver's has some charm and some elegance to it, and we like it! The day we were there they were short on wait staff, but in spite of that fact, the service was crisp and attentive The menu includes some items with Cape Cod names like, "Brewster Burrito, Falmouth Fiesta, Melt in Yarmouth, or Provincetown Player."

Note: We have returned to Oliver's for dinner. Our new comments are listed in blue below.
RESTAURANT: OLIVER'S Route 6A, Yarmouthport, MA (on the Dennis
line) DATE: May 2002, May 2003 MEAL: Lunch,
Dinner BREAD: Hot rolls that were excellent SALAD: APPETIZER: Clam Chowder ($2.95/cup) Excellent - had some real
flavor of clams ENTREE: Taco Salad ($8.50) Excellent contents, poor shell - A
huge portion in a soggy shell. Shells sometimes get soggy
because the contents touch them, but this one was soggy all
over. It was nicely filled, however, with salsa drizzled
over it. The next time we would ask for the salsa on the
side. Clam Strips ($8.95/large) Excellent - served with
excellent squash to replace the French Fries. Provincetown Player ($7.50) Excellent - This seafood
salad sandwich had a huge amount of seafood. It was served
open-faced. Seafood Pie ($14.95) Excellent -
Crumb crust had just enough butter to be tasty but so much
that the casserole was soupy. Taco Salad - the shell was not
soggy this time! DESSERT: OTHER: Parking is ample Staff was a bit rushed at
dinner A bit noisy, crowded and not as
relaxing at the dinner hour OVERALL: A-
