A unique restaurant housed in the Captain Howes House. This beautiful historic home was built in 1849 by Captain Frederick Howes (1812 - 1882). It is now listed on the National Historic Register. "Aside from viewing one of the finest renovations done to an historic house on route 6A, the old Gothic Revival home boasts all the original wood flooring, original plastered walls and ceilings, spiral staircase and French doors." Indeed this is an unusual spot with its yolk colored stenciled walls and high ceilings with delicate track lighting. There is a touch of elegance in each small dining room. Fresh flowers are placed on every table along with an eclectic mixture of "cute" items. The tables themselves are wooden with a delicate table covering placed between the wooden top and a glass top. Breakfast, Lunch and High tea are served here with each menu item attractively presented.

MA DATE: May 2007 MEAL: Lunch DECOR: BREAD: Warm Cranberry Nut Bread -
Wonderful! SALAD: APPETIZER: ENTREE: Rainbow Salad with Tuna ($10.50)
Excellent - The addition of cranberries along with the other
very crisp and fresh ingredients was a nice touch. The tuna
had just the right amount of mayonnaise so that it wasn't
too dry but also wasn't smothered with
mayonnaise. The Enjoyment (Crusty warm
bread, roast beef, salad garnish, horseradish and mustard
aoile - $8.50) Excellent - The bread was wonderfully crusty,
the roast beef was rare, and the horseradish was a perfect
addition. DESSERT: OTHER: Plenty of parking in their

Everything was nicely done and the restaurant has loads of
charm. We would like to return for High Tea or at least
return to sample some of the tea offerings.
