The television advertisements, the pictures on the menu, and the menu descriptions, all make the food look and sound so mouth watering at the Red Lobster. Unfortunately, the descriptions are far better than the food. We have been to several restaurants in this chain and have never had a meal that tastes anything like it sounds! The food is mediocre with some high spots, but nothing to draw us to a return visit. Our dining at the Red Lobster has been with others who appear to think better of it than we do. On the other hand, the service has been better than average even thought the kitchen is slower than average. The wait staff has been helpful in suggesting that we could turn appetizers into entree sized meals and dinner portions could be requested as luncheon portions. Unfortunately, we forgot to get a menu on our way out and do not remember the prices of items or their exact descriptions.
RESTAURANT: RED LOBSTER ADDRESS: 10500 Ulmerton Road, Largo, Florida DATE: August 11, 2001 MEAL: Dinner BREAD: SALAD: Crispy and fresh with good croutons APPETIZER: ENTREE: Popcorn Shrimp - Tastes like candy! The shrimp is
coated with coconut and then the diner is supplied with a
pina colada dipping sauce. The people who requested this
appetizer fixed as a dinner entree liked it. It would not
have been our choice since the taste of the shrimp was
obliterated with the batter, coconut, and dipping
sauce. Casserole of crabmeat and scallops with a cheese
sauce. Not particularly good. The cole slaw had a nice spicy
flavor and did not have too much mayonnaise. DESSERT: OTHER: OVERALL: C-
